I found these cute birds (I think they are anyways) this weekend. Now normally I am terrified of anything with a beak and wings, but these are just too cute! I guess you could say I have started Christmas decorating. In November. Never thought I would say that!

Room Inspirations {Dwell}
Ever since I started watching HGTV and saw my first episode of Sarah Richardson, I have been OBSESSED with home decor and planning my future house for about a year now. I have searched blogs and other websites for inspiration. Here are my utmost favorites.
Note: Many of these images I have copied to my desktop. Unfortunately I don't know exactly where they came from!

Spooktacular Time of Year {Dwell}
Halloween is drawing closer and closer and I have yet to decide on a costume (click here to see my past costumes). This year I don't have much time to think up something "out of the box" so I will probably go with something I already have.
I did however, get a minute to do some quick decorating aka ceramic pumpkin, 3 small real pumpkins, water bottle ghosts and some good old pumpkin lights.
Where I work, we sell fudge, which is usually sold by the piece. But lately, they have been getting creative with making fudge covered apples. They have made skeletons, eye balls, frogs and witches.

Postcard Wall {Dwell}
Young House Love created this postcard wall in their new office. I saw this and fell in love with the idea.

Ever since I was little, whenever someone in my family and friends went away, I would get them to send me a postcard (or multiple) and I still get people to send them to me! I have a whole box of postcards people have sent me.
I love the idea of displaying these as art, as well as being sentimental and a conversation piece. YHL have a step-by-step tutorial on how to create this wall; I can just picture having one of these when I move into my own place.

Desk Inspiration {Dwell}
I have had plans to revamp my desk space for some time now. With school coming up, I need a space that will be able to hold maximum creativity (and papers). I came across this Flickr page and instantly fell in love. She posts a picture of her desk each month. Here are my favourite 6 and I even circled what exactly I liked about each one. I really want to make a poster like the one she has that says "design, drink, sleep." I have a lot on my plate right now, but hopefully I have some down time soon to shop and decorate!

Dining Room Hutch Idea {Dwell}
I love the idea of a dining room hutch with a wild, bright patterned wallpaper backdrop. I also really like the look of white dishes, vases, etc. in front of it, maybe with one accent color taken from the wallpaper. I want a white dining room hutch (either new, but preferably vintage/antique and refinished white) and has a wallpaper background. Here are ideas I found from Making It Lovely and More Ways To Waste Time.

I want a white hutch like this and something like this wallpaper to accompany it and adding these vases and these dishes. I could even use my new elephant vase. Here is a tutorial on how to paint vases.

Elephant Tea Pot Turned Vase {Dwell}
I was doing my usual morning blog perusal and came across a post from Making It Lovely. It was about her daughters first birthday party, which I found totally adorable; she had tissue paper pom poms for decortions and chocolate silhouette cake. She had her table decorated and I saw this and fell in love!

I remembered that we had some of these elephant tea pots where I work. When I first saw them, 3 or 4 months ago, I thought they were cute, but couldn't think of what to use it for. Then I saw this and fell in love. So I rushed out this afternoon and bought one.

I have been really into home decor and such. Of course I don't have my own home to decorate (being in school, I still live at home), but I have been redecorating my bedroom from what I have been learning. I am slowly adding to my collection, so one day when I do have my own place, I can decorate it like crazy! This is my new elephant tea pot turned vase in action!
